Brevard man faces child porn charges
A 32-year-old Satellite Beach man is in custody after state and federal officials said he sought out videos of children involved in sexual activities using a file sharing program on his computer.

James Burnett Wilkerson was charged with 11 counts of possession of materials depicting the sexual performance of a child after agents from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and Homeland Security approached him in early October for an interview about his online activities, reports show.

Wilkerson was arrested Tuesday by FDLE agents after investigators completed a forensic search Wilkerson’s computers and hard drives. Investigators, with help from the Brevard County sheriff’s office, reported finding 11 graphic images and videos of children – some as young as 3-years-old – being sexually abused by adults, reports show. Wilkerson remains held on a $165,000 bond at the Brevard County Jail Complex.

Some of the videos also depicted the children being blindfolded during the illicit acts.

Wilkerson was cooperative with the agents when they arrived at his home in October. Wilkerson told agents he did use file sharing programs and that he searched for ‘pre-teen’ items to locate child pornography, reports show.

He also said he had been viewing the material, “out of curiosity,” for two years, reports show. Wilkerson was in court with his attorney at the county jail for an initial appearance Wednesday. No court date has been set.
