Taylor Ranch Community Center hosts event to help kids “Get Active”
Mayor Richard J. Berry and the Department of Family and Community Services are hosting an open house at a local community center.

The Taylor Ranch Community Center is offering after school programs, open basketball, open adult volley ball, open gym, step aerobics, Taekwondo and much more.

According to the American Heart Association, childhood obesity rates are at an all-time high: Today, nearly one in three kids and teens in the United States are obese or overweight. The community center is looking to help the community get active.

Desiree Cawley with the Animal Welfare Department and Bobby Sisneros with Department of Family & Community Services joined KRQE’s This Morning team to talk about the event. Watch above.

The event will be on Saturday, April 2, 2016 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
